Bearden High School is a public high school in the Bearden community of Knoxville, Tennessee. With about 2,100 students, Bearden High has a good talent pool to select from for its athletic pursuits and the Bulldogs have recently produced two kickers that can currently be found on the rosters of NFL teams. In 2010, through the generous giving of donors, ground was broken for the new Jim Smelcher Athletic Complex. Dissatisfied with the lack of durability and customer support found in their old strength equipment, Head Coach Brad Taylor and Assistant Coach Hunter Fendley knew that the new building would need new equipment that could stand the test of time and serve to build a high quality atmosphere that the student athletes would enjoy and take pride in. His search for quality and pleasing aesthetics led the coaching staff to select Legend Fitness as their exclusive strength supplier.
Featured in the new facility are ten Pro Series Power Cages. Each cage was complemented with Pro Series Insert Platforms displaying custom logos and Pro Series Three-Way Benches with custom embroidery. Optional accessories included Single Landmine Attachments, Dip Attachments, and Swivel Pull-Up Handles. Other equipment in the install included an Angle Leg Press, a Unilateral Angle Leg Press, two pin select Lat Pulldowns, two Leg Extension/Curl Combos, two Pro Series GHDs, and two Reverse Hyper Pros. Three dumbbell racks, a kettlebell rack and a couple sets of Performance Plyo Cushions are there as well, pieces acquired in previous, smaller orders.
The cages are finished in in Storm Gray with Wine Red crossmembers and custom post decals. The upholstery is black, and other Legend Fitness items are finished in Olympia White.
