But what a lot of people don’t realize is just how much of what we make is actually made in Tennessee, and what goes into fabricating and shipping a piece of Legend Fitness equipment. Read on for an inside look at what really goes into each piece we make.
In-house fabrication, wood shop, and upholstery.
When raw materials come through our doors in Knoxville, it’s crafted into the finest commercial-grade strength and fitness equipment around. Our fabrication center cuts American steel tubing down to size, bends it if needed, drills holes, and welds it all together. From there it moves to our powder coating booths, where it’s coated in whatever color your heart desires and baked in an oven for a durable, long-lasting finish.
Upholstered items are cut and hand-stitched in our in-house upholstery shop. Wood items, including pad backing and platforms, are all cut and finished in our on-site wood shop. Everything is put together in our assembly area, where it runs through a final round with our quality control team. When it passes quality control, it moves into our shipping department.
More welds per piece mean custom-built shipping containers.
Our use of welds over nuts and bolts means our equipment is engineered to be ultra rigid. That also means that, in a lot of cases, our equipment can’t just be disassembled and tossed in a box for shipping. Instead, when necessary, our shipping department builds custom-made shipping containers for each piece of equipment that leaves our facility. These structures protect your equipment as it makes it way from Knoxville to wherever you are.
Shipping, delivery, and installation.
Shipping, delivery, and installation of your Legend Fitness equipment depends on what options you discuss with your Territory Manager when you place your order. Typically, a shipping carrier delivers your order via curbside delivery. At this point it must be said that it is your responsibility to get your equipment into your facility and installed. Installation, lift gate service, and 24-hour notification are offered, but are not included in shipping costs. To coordinate these services, you’ll need to work with your Territory Manager when you place your order. Pickup is available at our manufacturing facility in Knoxville, Tennessee. This must also be coordinated with your Territory Manager when you place your order.
